House Republican Leader Adam Hasner, R-Delray Beach, said today that he’ll push for tax incentives for owners of electric vehicles during the 2009 legislative session. Details of the legislation were not provided in today’s press release.

“After spending the last several months driving an electric vehicle daily throughout my community, I’m convinced that accelerating research and development of electric vehicles, and making the ownership of these vehicles more affordable, are critically important steps toward energy independence and creating a more efficient and responsible transportation future for Floridians,” Hasner said.
