The 2006 Florida race that might get the most national attention is the face-off between U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fort Lauderdale, and challenger state Sen. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton.
Voters didn’t pick the candidates for the 22nd Congressional District on Tuesday because both were unopposed for their party’s nominations. Also running under “No Party Affiliation” is Neil Evangelista. That race will be on the Nov. 7 ballot, along with seven others that didn’t have primaries:16th Congressional District: Incumbent Republican Mark Foley vs. challengers Tim Mahoney, a Democrat, and Emmie Ross, unaffiliated
State Agriculture Commissioner: Republican incumbent Charles Bronson vs. Democratic challenger Eric Copeland
State Senate: District 28 incumbent Republican Ken Pruitt vs. Democratic challenger Stan Smilan
State House: District 82 Democrat Catherine Hilton vs. Republican William D. Snyder, District 83 incumbent Republican Carl J. Domino vs. Democratic challenger Frederick W. “Rick” Ford, District 87 incumbent Republican Adam Hasner vs. Democratic challenger Ed Kopf
County Commission: District 2 Democratic incumbent John F. “Jeff” Koons vs. write-in challenger Sylvia Goldstein
